Like many smaller UU congregations, ours is lay-led. This
means we do not have a minister, rather the services are
planed and led by members of the congregation. We also rely
from time to time on visiting ministers of different faiths
and other speakers from the community.
As our congregation is made up of many diverse people with
contrasting backgrounds and beliefs; the topics for our
services are reflected as such. We encourage you to come
back often and enjoy this diversity. Please see the listing
of future topics on the horizon and come to visit us at the
church in the woods! |

of all existence. Join us for this
presentation by UUFT member Bonnie Horrick.

Bet You Hate Science, Too!
It's easy to laugh at
the fundamentalists. But we all have our own
personal myths and resent it if they are disproved.
An exploration of how science impacts our belief
systems is presented by UUFT Member Casey Cunningham
May 11, 2008 - An Unlikely Missionary
A chance meeting in Gilmer leads to a missionary
trip to Guatemala for a UU woman who never dreamed
of doing such a thing. Ruth Semrau, a member of the
UU Fellowship of Longview, accompanied Deborah Bell
to Central America to provide medical services. This
program includes a brief outline of Guatemalan
history; how it relates to Norteamericano non-profit
organizations, and UU concepts of social justice.
And of course, personal observations by Ruth Semrau.
